If you want to try the Lush lineup, you may wonder if the Lush 4 is worth the extra money compared to the Lush 3.
After all, these toys can be costly.
Most Lovense toys cost over $100, so you’ll probably only want to choose one. If you already own the Lush 3, don’t upgrade for a while.
I briefly compared the two in my Lush 4 review, but I figured I’d go into more detail in this post.
So, let’s examine Lush 4 and see how it compares to its predecessor.

What is The Lovense Lush 3?
The Lush 3 is the third iteration of Lovense’s Lush vibrators. These egg vibrators are designed for G-spot stimulation, and they feel amazing!
Like most Lovense products, the Lush 3 boasts Bluetooth connectivity.
With the Lovense Remote app, you can control the vibrations via your phone and sync music to them! The Lush 3 came out in 2021 and was considered the definitive version of the toy.
The first Lush came out in 2016. I don’t want to make y’all feel old, but that was nearly a decade ago. The Lush 2 came out in 2019.
So the Lush 4 is the longest wait between models. Is it worth the wait?
What is The Lovense Lush 4?
After four years, we finally got the upgrade to the Lush 3 that we’ve been waiting for.
The Lush 4 improves upon the Lush 3 in several ways, such as better Bluetooth, a more ergonomic shape, and two new features: the LED tail light and rapid charging.
The motor has been upgraded to give users a whopping 7,000 vibrations per minute, stimulating even the least sensitive folk.
Let’s now compare the two toys.
How Does the Lush 4 Compare to Lush 3?
Now, let’s pit the newcomer, the Lush 4, against its parent, the Lush 3. Now, obviously, the Lush 4 is going to offer more features and have a better design.
But are the changes enough for Lush 3 owners to make an upgrade? Let’s find out.
Lush 4 vs Lush 3 – Comfort and Fit
Both toys are very comfortable and fit inside most with ease. However, the Lush 4 adds new ways to ensure everyone has a good fit.
The neck’s more flexible, and the bulb has a slightly different shape. Without the tail light, if you put these two together, I’d have a hard time telling which is which.
But the slight changes the Lush 4 has do make a difference. The Lush 3 felt great, but after a while, I was ready to take it out.

With that said, everybody is different. However, the Lush 4 is much more of a “One-size-fits-most” toy.
Lush 4 vs Lush 3 – Shape and Design
Once again, both are shaped very similarly, with the head having a slight tweak in the Lush 4 model.
The biggest design difference is the LED tail light. On the Lush 3, a charging port rests on the very top of the tail, while a big LED light is on the Lush 4.
The Lush 4 moved its charging port at the bottom of the tail this time. This design change also makes it a little easier to charge, at least in my experience.

Both have powerful motors that deliver more good vibrations than Marky Mark. But the Lush 4 has an even more powerful motor—it can deliver up to 7,000 vibrations per minute!
Who was in charge of counting?
I wanted to know how many vibrations per minute the Lush 3 had so I could compare, but I can’t find anything detailing how many vibrations per minute it had.
So I asked Chat-GPT, and it said 11,000. That made no sense, so I asked it where it got this information. It said there wasn’t any available information.

If anyone knows how many vibrations per minute the Lush 3 has, let me know. I assume it’s locked up in Lovense headquarters and is tightly guarded like the 11 herbs and spices of KFC.
Lush 4 vs Lush 3 – Noise Levels
The noise level is going to depend on how intense you have the vibrations. With that said, the Lush 4 is slightly quieter at 36 decibels, while the Lush 3 has 38.
But the difference is barely noticeable. Both toys are whisper-quiet, so with either, you can enjoy some discreet fun without anyone hearing you.
As long as there is some background noise, no one will notice. But still, I would be wary of either toy if you’re in a room with absolute silence.

Bluetooth connectivity is essential for any smart toy. How many times have you used a Bluetooth toy only for it to disconnect?
Or have you had trouble controlling it because your phone was far away from the toy? Both have strong Bluetooth antennas, but the Lush 4 has been refined.
This means better range, more stability, and less lag.
With any connection, however, the number of connected devices and obstructions can affect your connection.
While the Lush 4 has improved the Bluetooth connection, the Lush 3 still holds up. Also, it does depend on your device, if there are any obstructions and several other factors.
Lush 4 vs Lush 3 – Charging and Battery Life
Let’s first discuss battery life. The battery life of any vibrating toy can depend on the intensity and other settings, so we’re talking about averages.
On average, the Lush 3 lasts 2.5 to 5 hours on a single charge. Meanwhile, the Lush 4 advertises up to 350 minutes, which is almost 6 hours.
The big difference is the Lush 4’s rapid charging.
The Lush 3 takes about 1.5 hours to charge fully. But what if you forgot to charge it the night before, and the battery is now dead?
Even if you charge the Lush 3 for five minutes, you’re not going very far. However, the Lush 4 has rapid charging.
In just five minutes, you can get one hour of playtime, and it only takes 50 minutes to charge the Lush 4 to 100%.
This feature is one of the most considerable leaps the Lush 4 offers.
Lush 4 vs Lush 3 – Pricing
What about the price? Some people may sacrifice the improvements of the Lush 4 if this means that they’re going to be saving a whole lot of money.
So, how much is the Lush 3 compared to the 4?
There are many sites to buy these from, so I’m going to look at Lovense’s site itself. Also, please note that this is before shipping, taxes, and whatnot.
As of this post, the Lush 3 costs $119, and the Lush 4 $129. There is not much of a difference! If you don’t have either and you’re choosing, then chances are you’ll go with the Lush 4.
The $10 extra gives you more features and a more evergreen product. Just remember that the price can change and sometimes deals are available.
Maybe once the Lush 3 starts getting phased out, you’ll start to see better deals. But for now, there’s not much of a difference.
I should also mention that the Lovense site has an “Original price” for both that’s scratched off.
The Lush 3 says $239, and the Lush 4 is $259. But I’ve never seen these toys priced this much. I think it’s a marketing gimmick.
Like you open the page, see the lovense discount, and buy it because you think it’s a limited-time sale or something.
Lush 4 vs Lush 3 – Packaging
They say it’s not what’s on the outside but the inside. But when it comes to sex toys, packaging is important. What if you’re living with a roommate or still living with family?
You don’t want them to see your toys! So, with that said, do both products come in discreet packaging? And also, what is inside the box itself? I’m here to investigate, and my findings are:
There’s not much difference here. Both versions come in a discreet brown box. Inside is the Lovense Lush package, which contains the Lush, a charging cable, and a manual. That’s it.

LED Tail Light – A Lush 4 Upgrade
The most noticeable difference between the Lush 4 and its predecessor is the tail light. On its tail, the Lush 4 has an LED light that you can customize via the app.
It can sync to the vibrations or flash in many different colors. It’s mostly an aesthetic feature, but colors play an important part in setting the mood for sex.
Of course, you can turn off the lights, which you may want to do if you’re out and about in public. I swear, officer, my pussy naturally flashes colors like it’s a gaming PC!
User Testimonials for Lush 3
So, what do the reviews say about the Lush 3? If you go to its page on Lovense, it has a 4.7 out of 5 score.
However, you cannot filter these reviews by lowest ranking, so I decided to look at the reviews on its Amazon and Lovehoney pages as well.
To my surprise, the reviews are a little more mixed than I expected. Amazon has a 3.7 out of 5 star average, and Lovehoney has a 4.
The positive reviews are what you expect. People love its versatile patterns, how it helps long-distance couples connect, and low noise levels.
Many expressed skepticism about this product, but they were pleasantly surprised. Don’t you love it when that happens?
But then you have the negative reviews. You have the people who this product just couldn’t please.
You cranked the Lush 3 to 11, and they didn’t feel a thing. I get some women are tough cookies to please, but you didn’t feel anything? Geez!
Then you have the folks who had a hard time fitting it. Some described the toy as being too tight.
Others said the toy just fell out after wearing it for a bit. I feel like, on average, it’s going to work for most people.
But some vaginas are built differently, and that minority is going to let their voices be heard.
You also got the folks who couldn’t get a consistent connection. In my experience, the Lush 3 connected well, but on occasion, I’d get that dreaded “reconnecting.”

Duds are rare, but the people who get them are a very vocal minority. I get it, but maybe you should contact customer service and get a replacement.
While I think most people were satisfied with Lush 3, and the negative reviews didn’t represent the majority, there is clearly room for improvement. That is where Lush 4 comes in.
User Testimonials for Lush 4
Because the Lush 4 is a new product, there are fewer reviews than for the Lush 3, so this section may soon be outdated.
But let’s look at the reviews that have come in thus far.
On the Lovehoney page, the Lush 4 has a 4.8 out of 5-star rating, meaning that it’s slightly better reviewed than the Lush 3, but not by much.
On Amazon, the Lush 4 is much better received at 4.7 out of 5 stars on average. The only negative review is three stars, and the user has had trouble staying connected.
Once again, I don’t know what phone they have or their living situation, so I can’t say much about their experience.
That said, this is still a new product, so updates may fix the small issues people may have.

It depends. If you just got the Lush 3 not too long ago, then you don’t need to be in any rush to get the Lush 4.
These toys are expensive, and you can’t exactly sell a used Lush 3 on eBay to offset the cost!
But if you’ve had the Lush 3 for a while, or you don’t have a Lush at all and want to choose between 3 and 4, I think the Lush 4 is worth the price of admission.
The LED light is a nice touch. The better Bluetooth and design are essential improvements as well.
But that rapid charging comes in clutch! I try to keep my toys charged, but sometimes, life happens, and being able to get an hour of play in just five minutes is something I’ll always be impressed by!
