Lovense toys are high-quality, tech-forward toys, but even the best award-winning remote apps can glitch out now and again.
Fortunately, most Lovense issues are easy fixes, and with your warranty and Lovense’s online tech support, you should have a solution in no time.
As with any technology, Lovense toys have some imperfections, but overall I’ve had a great experience.
When you’re dealing with not one but two pieces of technology (the toy and your phone), the connection between the two can be the biggest problem.
I have outlined some of the common lovense connection issues when it comes to Lovense toys.
1. Bluetooth Issues
The Lovense Remote app functions via a Bluetooth connection between your phone app and the Lovense toy of your choosing.
Often, the Lovense toy will not function correctly or respond to the Remote because of a connectivity issue with your phone’s Bluetooth.
If you are having trouble pairing your toy in the first place, ensure the toy is charged, your phone’s Bluetooth is on, and you can search for available devices.
You will also want to ensure your Lovense toy is within range of your phone. You should bring the toy close to your phone during pairing.
2. Internet Issues
Did you know you can use the Lovense Remote app long distance? All you need is a stable Wifi connection to control a Lovense toy from miles away.
You may run into Internet issues if you’re using the Lovense Remote Long-Distance feature or attempting to connect your toy to a cam website using the Lovense browser.
Once you have gone through the set-up process, you will also see a tab on your Lovense Remote App screen that says “Long Distance.”
If you don’t see this screen, you might not be connected properly.
3. Phone Issues
It may sound obvious, but the age-old advice of “turn it off and then on again” can sometimes be the simplest solution.
You can do a soft reset or a hard reset.
For a soft reset, you may want to disconnect your Lovense toy from the Bluetooth connection, close the Lovense app, and then turn off Bluetooth connections entirely on your phone or set it to Airplane mode.
For a hard reset, first, disconnect your Lovense toy from the Bluetooth connection on your phone and let the toy power down – or you can have it remain on standby.
Then, power down your phone completely. Don’t just set it to sleep, but actually turn the entire device off.
Wait about a minute, and then power on your phone. It may take a few minutes for Wifi and Cellular Data to get back up to speed.
Once everything is operating smoothly, try to reconnect your Lovense toy with your phone.
How to Connect Your Phone Properly
Pairing your Lovense toy with your Bluetooth-enabled device is usually pretty straightforward. And the great thing is, once your pair once, you usually won’t need to go through the process again.
If you’ve ever paired a Bluetooth device like headphones or speakers to your phone, you will find the Lovense connection process easy and familiar.
The main difference between Lovense and other Bluetooth devices is that you do the pairing through the Lovense Remote App, not through your device’s Bluetooth settings page.
The Lovense Remote App is streamlined and easy to use. Its accessible and user-friendly interface will make the pairing process as intuitive as possible.
The user guide in each Lovense toy’s box will also include step-by-step instructions and troubleshooting tips.
To pair your Lovense device to your phone, follow the steps below:
- Make sure your phone is available for new Bluetooth pairings. This may mean going to settings and turning “On” Bluetooth mode.
- Download the Lovense Remote App for free from either the Google Play or Apple App Store.
- Turn on your Lovense toy. In most cases, a red LED indicator light will alert you that the toy is on and charged.
- Once downloaded, open the Lovense Remote app.
- Click the “Link” icon in the top right corner. The button looks like the standard hyperlink symbol.
- Next, find the “+” button to find the Lovense toy you are trying to pair. Click the name of your device, and the App will alert you when it is paired.
- Click “Done” to complete the process.
Once paired, your Lovense Remote App should sense the Lovense toy you’ve connected any time you turn the toy on and have the app open in the future.

4. Be Careful with Your Lovense Products
The best way to maintain the quality and longevity of your Lovense toy is to treat it with care. This seems obvious, but people run into a lot of problems when they skip this step.
Treating your Lovense toy with care and respect doesn’t require a lot of work; it just means you need to pay attention to your toy and how you use it.
If you use a toy for an area of the body that it’s not intended for, you might run into serious problems.
For example, you should never use a non-anal toy inside yours – or anyone’s – anus. A toy without a base for removal could risk getting stuck inside you.
Not only is that bad for your toy, it could be very bad for the user of the toy and may likely require medical attention.
If you have a Lovense vaginal toy like the Lush 3 or Hyphy, please keep it where it’s supposed to be used!
That doesn’t mean you can’t get creative, especially if you want to use your toy externally. Just be extra careful with any insertion.
So remember, to keep your Lovense toy going strong, only use it as intended.
5. Your Lovense Toy Doesn’t Charge: How To Solve This Issue
There can be a few common problems related to charging your lovense toy.
Your toy might be charging very slowly, not holding a charge even when it’s been on the charger for hours, or not charging at all.
If your toy is charging slowly, try switching to charging your cable using an AV adapter or “charging block” directly connected to the wall socket.
If your battery is not holding a charge for less time than it used to, you may have worn down the battery over time. However, if this is a new toy, you might be charging incorrectly.
Make sure the LED indicator turns on when you attach the charger. If it doesn’t, you may need to contact Lovense Customer Support.
First, check if your charger or charging port is damaged. There could be debris or other blockages around the charging port preventing a proper connection.
To prevent battery issues, you should be careful to only charge your Lovense toy for the amount of time it takes to reach a full charge, which can range from about one to two hours, depending on the toy.
You should not leave your toy on the charger overnight or forget about it all weekend. Overcharging your toy can wear down your battery and cause a shorter lifespan.
Also ensure you use the right charger cable that’s suited for lovense toys.

6. Your Lovense Toy Could Be Damaged: Avoid Forcefully Twisting & Bending it
Lovense toys are made with soft, luscious silicone, and many of them, like the Edge 2 and the Dolce, have bendy, adjustable segments to form to your body.
However, it is important to note that when a toy is adjustable, it does not mean that it is entirely flexible.
Even if your toy is supple and moveable, you should avoid intensely twisting or bending the toy with force.
Lovense toys are long-lasting, but unfortunately, they are not indestructible. You should still operate your toy with care even if you feel like it can handle some force.
With a toy like the Edge 2, try not to adjust it too often or keep changing its arm back and forth, especially in one session.
This is especially important for your wallet because if you flat-out break your Lovense toy while misusing it, the warranty won’t cover it.
7. Your Lovense Toy Is Dirty: Clean Before & After Using It
This step is often overlooked because it seems so simple, but one of the best ways to ensure that your Lovense toy lasts a long time is to keep it clean.
Proper cleaning of sex toys means that you should clean them before and after use.
Why before? The toy may pick up dust or debris while in storage, so even if it was clean when you put it away a week ago, it might not be squeaky clean now.
You should also practice proper cleaning procedures when washing your Lovense toy. Be sure not to expose the toy to intense temperatures or harsh chemicals.
Warm water and mild soap will do the trick. Make sure you are using a soap or wash that is safe for silicone and plastic, and avoid soaps with glitter or scents.
Also, be sure you are paying attention to the toy’s water resistance. Most Lovense toys are totally waterproof, but some are not.
Water damage to a non-waterproof toy can cause a real headache, so watch out.
8. Lovense Remote App Issues
Last but not least, it’s possible your issue isn’t with the toy itself, but with the Lovense Remote App or the device you’re using it on.
Your phone or computer might need a software update. If you are really out of ideas, consider upgrading hardware or software.
Older phones and computers tend to cause problems no matter what. Hopefully, you don’t need to get a completely new device; but check if you need the newest operating system.
You can also determine the root of the issue by using your toy with both the phone and desktop versions of the Remote App.
The Lovense Remote software for Mac and PCs is newer and has yet to be quite as thoroughly tested, which makes it more likely to have issues than the phone app.
9. Contact Customer Service if All Else Fails
You’ve read through your entire User Manual, tried every troubleshooting tip in this article, and your Lovense toy is still causing trouble.
What do you do?
Don’t worry too much, even if you are someone who thinks they can Google every solution. Sometimes, things are just glitchy beyond our abilities, and we need Customer Service.
Lovense has amazing, 24-7 Customer Service through their website. You can always contact them to see if their FAQ has your answer or get connected to a customer support associate.
If you buy your Lovense toy through a trusted retailer, you are also entitled to a one-year warranty. It is possible that your toy is beyond a quick fix, and you might just need a replacement.
