Easter is a little over a month away, and there’s been a lot of talk about egg prices recently. I guess that’s enough of an excuse to talk about vibrating eggs.
Egg vibrators, or love eggs, are quite popular for several reasons.

Their egg shape can fit perfectly inside the vagina and light up all walls around it. Plus, they can be relatively affordable, maybe more so than eggs nowadays.
Okay, I’ll stop.
But what are the best egg vibrators, and what should you know before you purchase one? I’m here to answer those questions!
Contents
What Exactly is a Vibrating Egg?
These vibrators are usually smaller than a wand or traditional dildo and are shaped like eggs. Simple enough.
Some have only the egg shape, while others may have a tail that almost makes them look like giant sperm.
This clitoral tail lets you position the egg much better to reach the clitoris.
I went to the Wikipedia page for the love egg, and it mentioned that bullet vibrators are under the same umbrella due to their size and similar shape.
But for the sake of simplicity, this article will focus only on egg vibrators. You’re welcome.
I should also mention that the Wikipedia article said that these eggs were used to treat female hysteria.
Mental health treatment from over 100 years ago gets stranger every time I read about it. And more misogynistic, too. But at least something good came from it!
What Types of Egg Vibrators Can You Buy?
Eggs come in all shapes and sizes, and so do egg vibrators. The main types of egg vibrators are:
Wired
To control the egg, you use a remote. However, the remote and the egg are attached via a wire. This wire makes the egg much cheaper, but it’s not good for discreet play.
Plus, that wire is such a hassle. But if you’re in a pinch, wired egg vibrators can work well enough. This article won’t include wired eggs, as most stores sell wireless.
However, if you go to your local sex shop, you may find wired sex toys.
Wireless Remote

Look ma! No wires! Wireless remote egg vibrators use a small remote that you or your partner can use.
The range can vary depending on the model, but generally, you want to be in a close distance.
This fact means the biggest drawback of remote eggs is that a long-distance lover can’t join in on the fun!
Bluetooth Eggs
These eggs are your Lovenses and similar brands, which let you control the egg via an app.
App control means that your partner can control the eggs via a longer distance and even across the world.
Also, these eggs usually have unlimited pattern combinations, including syncing to music.
The only disadvantages are the price and the Bluetooth connection can sometimes disconnect, but they are getting better at that.
Tailed

Finally, we have tailed egg vibrators versus vibrators without the tail. A tail adds a little less discretion, but many can be easily hidden through bending.
A tail lets you adjust so you can hit your clitoral area much more effortlessly.
Some tailed vibrators also house a charging port or an LED on the tail. How fun! In particular, the Lovense Lush 4 has LEDs on it.
Thrusting
Some egg vibrators can make thrusting motions instead of vibrators. These will make you feel like you’re getting penetrated.
One drawback to these, however, is that they do have a more challenging time staying in and can be louder than normal egg vibes.
And they can be a little hit or miss with their quality.
Remote vs App Control Vibrating Eggs — Which Should You Choose?
You should choose wireless eggs, which you control as a separate device. But what do you choose? A remote or an app? I’ll make a case for both.
The Case for the Remote
- A remote vibrator tends to cost less than an app, so if you have a smaller budget, a remote egg can fit into that.
- Remotes are quick. You take it out, press the button, and you’re good to go. No having to open your app only to find out you need to update and connect the toy, and I’m no longer turned on.
- Remote batteries tend to last a long time, unlike a phone’s battery. You should be good for months upon months or maybe even over a year.
- You don’t need to have an internet connection to use a remote vibrator, while you need one for most apps. You also don’t need to worry about any updates slowing you down.
The Case for the App
- An app gives you unlimited customization options. You can create and download patterns, sync them to music, and the list goes on. With a remote vibrator, you can only choose between a limited number of combinations.
- Apps let you control via a longer distance. For example, the Lovense Remote app lets you add your partner, and they can control the vibrator and chat with you from far away.
- You’re less likely to lose your app than your phone. Your phone has ways to track it if you misplaced it. A remote? Not so much.
- Updates can be a good thing, as they can add more features or improve a toy’s reliability. Just be sure you’re always up to date whenever you use
Nowadays, I prefer app vibrators myself. Several years ago, app vibrators were very unreliable, so I preferred a good old remote.
But in recent years, they’ve stepped up their game.
Disconnections are much rarer, and the extra features more than compensate for that mild annoyance. That said, I have both. Remote vibrators still have their uses.
What To Look For When Choosing an Egg Vibrator
When choosing eggs, you may choose based on size or whether or not they were free-range. Okay, you don’t need to worry if an egg vibrator is in a cage.
But just like real eggs, there are several factors you may choose from when picking egg vibrators. These include:
Waterproof Capabilities
Since this is a vibrating egg, it should be waterproof. Even if you’re not planning to use it in the bath, a waterproof egg is still important.
You don’t need to walk on eggshells (ugh) to clean it, and if you drop it in water, oh well.

Ideally, look for an egg with an IPX7 waterproof rating. This rating means that the egg will be protected from being submerged in up to 1 meter of water for 30 minutes.
Some eggs are splash-proof, meaning you can clean them just fine in a faucet but don’t submerge them.
Materials
Most egg vibrators will be made from silicone, which is body-safe and easy to clean. However, some eggs will be made of softer or firmer silicone.
I like eggs that are in the perfect middle—not too squishy but not rock-hard. But it’s all down to preference.
Noise Level
Many people buy egg vibrators for some discreet fun. You may wear it while on a date in a fancy restaurant, and no one knows you’re wearing it.
Well, they may know if the vibrator is loud.
Some egg vibrators can be whisper-quiet, but budget vibrators may sacrifice the soundproofing.
Type
I mentioned the wired, wireless, app, or tailed egg vibrators, so I won’t repeat myself too much here.

But you may want an egg that is wired for budget’s sake or app-controlled for the most versatility. And a tail may help you control the egg’s position better.
Price
How much are you willing to pay? More affordable egg vibrators may cost less than $20. However, an app-controlled luxury vibrator may cost over $100.
Of course, this vibrator offers many more features, so it may be worth the price of admission.
Some egg vibrators fall between these two extremes, offering great features while still being a good value.
Size
How thick do you want your egg? Egg vibrators come in several sizes, from tiny to girthy. Always read the size before you purchase, or else you may be disappointed or even intimidated!
5 Best Egg Vibrators
1. Lovense Lush 4 – Best Overall
I’ve written a couple of articles gushing over Lovense’s latest product in the Lush lineup, and there’s a reason why.
The Lush 4, which was released in February 2025, improves upon the Lush 3. It has a more ergonomic shape, better Bluetooth, and a couple of standout features.
The first feature is rapid charging. If your Lush 4 is dead, you can get up to an hour of playtime in just five minutes.
If I tried that with any other toy, I’d get maybe a minute on a lucky day.
The second feature is its LED tail light. You can control some very colorful LEDs through the app, which can make the mood even better. You can also turn it off for discreet play.
I recommend reading the full review to learn more. Just know that this is another hit product from Lovense that you should buy if you have the money.
The Lush 3 is still available, but it’s not much cheaper. There’s not much of a reason to choose the Lush 3 over the newest model.
Pros
- Perfectly shaped for most vaginas.
- Rapid charging and LEDs are nice features.
- Lovense Remote App gives you unlimited customization.
Cons
- It’s a bit pricey and can sometimes disconnect.
2. Lovense Vulse – Best Thrusting Egg Vibrator
The Lovense Vulse looks very similar to its Lush lineup, but there’s a major difference: it thrusts.
The love egg can thrust with up to 120 strokes per minute, which is quite incredible. I can’t think of any man who can do that. To be fair, I wasn’t counting.
The Vulse comes with the same expected Lovense perks, like app control, IPX7 waterproof, and magnetic recharging.
Unlike the Lush 4, there is no rapid charging or LEDs, but the Vulse did come out a year before the Lush 4.
I enjoy my Vulse, but being a thrusting vibrator, it’s noisier and sometimes falls out. Because of these factors, I recommend keeping this one at home.
But when it comes to thrusting vibrators, it is the best you can get.
Read my review on the lovense vulse if you need more information.
Pros
- A thrusting egg vibrator. Enough said.
- Has all the expected Lovense perks.
- Up to 120 strokes per minute.
Cons
- It’s not as discreet or as reliable of a fit as the Lush.
3. Lovehoney Rechargeable Remote Control Love Egg – Best Budget Remote Egg Vibrator
If you want a remote egg vibrator without spending too much, Lovehoney’s store-brand product line always delivers.
This egg vibrator has a tail that also houses its USB charging. It boasts 11 vibration modes, so it lasts a long time.
To be more specific, it has 7 vibration powers and four intensity levels.
That said, you sacrifice some things by being a budget egg vibrator. It’s splashproof, not waterproof.
Not only that, but it’s a little louder than Lovense’s lineup. So, if you plan on doing some public play, keep it on its lowest settings or blast it at a concert or something.
Pros
- Affordable.
- USB-rechargeable.
- Has a good variety of modes for the price.
Cons
- It’s noisy and not waterproof.
4. Wellness Serene Vibe by Blush – Best Pure Egg Vibrator
Most of these egg vibrators have a tail attached to them, so here’s one that looks just like an egg.
I guess the description says it’s shaped like a massage stone, but it does look like a slightly misshapen egg to me.
This egg vibrator is fully rechargeable and IPX7 waterproof, and one feature it boasts is that it’s made from soft Puria liquid silicone with Ultrasilk, which gives it a satin smooth feel.
Okay, these feel like marketing terms, but it does feel amazing both in your hands and inside of you.
If I had one drawback, I wish it had a remote. You need to press the buttons on the egg to control it, which is a hassle.
When I’m in the zone and want the vibration to increase, pressing it manually is annoying, but I can’t complain too much.
Pros
- No tail or any other attachments.
- Very soft.
- A good variety of patterns.
Cons
- It lacks a remote.
5. We-Vibe Jive 2 – Best Alternative Bluetooth Vibrator
Finally, we have the We-Vibe Jive 2. This egg vibrator is quite similar to the Lovense Lush, as both use app control.
The We-Vibe app is a little simpler and good for folks who don’t want all those bells and whistles.
The Jive 2 is rumblier than the Lush and has lower levels. If you’re particularly sensitive, then you may vibe with it.
Because of the lower levels, the Jive 2 can be quieter as well.
However, the Lush 4 beats the Jive 2 in several ways, and even the Lush 3 was better. When it comes out, the Jive 3 may be a worthy contender.
Pros
- Rumblier sensations compared to the Lush.
- It is a simple and intuitive app.
- Super quiet!
Cons
- It’s not as feature-rich as Lovense’s Lush lineup.
How To Use A Vibrating Love Egg
How you use a love egg will depend on which you buy, so always consult the manual. That being said, here’s some general advice.
First, make sure that the egg is fully charged or has a fresh pair of batteries. Play with yourself a little bit, and use some water-based lube if needed.
Avoid silicone lubes for silicone toys. If you play with yourself, there may be a button on the vibrator for easy control, or you can use a remote.
Listen to your body. If it hurts, it shouldn’t. You may need more lube or prep. If the vibrations feel too intense, lower them.
This is common sense, but some people get a little too into the zone and regret it later.
Communication is key with a partner. If it gets too much, have a safe word. If your partner says to stop, then stop. Consent matters.
Finally, when finished, be sure to clean it. For a silicone egg, some soap and water or a toy cleaner will do the trick.
When dried, put the egg into a bag (usually included in the box) and store it in a cool, dry place.
Can an Egg Vibrator Be Used for Anal Play?
Look, I can’t control what you put up your butt, but egg vibrators aren’t considered safe for anal play. Why? They have no flared base. H
If you’re not careful, you could get it stuck inside you, and you’d have to go to the hospital for an awkward trip.
Or, do your best chicken laying an egg impression and hope for the best. Tailed egg vibrators may be a little safer, but I still wouldn’t use them.
Here are some good anal vibrator options.
Can You Place a Vibrating Egg Inside You?
Yes! As long as there’s an easy way to remove it, like a tail, you shouldn’t worry. That said, I’d be wary when it comes to anal play for the reasons I mentioned.
That being said, listen to your body. If you put a toy inside of you, and your body isn’t feeling it, take it out!
Are Vibrating Eggs Safe to Use?
Yes, vibrating eggs are safe to use, as long as you insert them correctly and listen to your body.
Also, be sure you use eggs made from non-porous materials such as silicone. These eggs will be easier to clean and are made from body-safe materials.
Porous materials can absorb bacteria and can be impossible to fully clean.
Some Alternative Vibrators to Choose From
If you’re not digging the vibrators above, what are some alternatives?
The first alternative is the Lovense Ferri. This vibrator is designed to fit and vibrate in your panties. Like their egg vibrators, it’s very discreet and can deliver powerful vibrations.
However, it’s meant for external stimulation rather than internal stimulation. I love that you can slip it into your panties and be on your merry day.
The second is the LELO Soraya 2. This is a rabbit vibrator, meaning it’s not super discreet.
However, the clitorial vibrator portion does have an egg shape, which you may love. It’s great for the bedroom or if you’re really stealthy in public.
