A toy should always be appropriately annealed so it won’t break inside of you.
A glass dildo from a reputable brand should be annealed appropriately and ready to go. In fact, an annealed toy may survive a few drops, but I’m not going to push my luck on it.
Cheap, mass-produced glass dildos from China may not be annealed properly.
A poorly annealed toy may be safe to use one or two times, but if you want something that will last you for years, this may not be it.
Are Colored Glass Sex Toys Safe?
I love those colored toys. When I get festive, I even have a candy cane glass dildo with red stripes on it.
Yes, colored glass toys are safe to use, as the color is inside of the glass. However, you should not paint the dildo’s surface to color it.
Dildos painted on the surface don’t retain their paint for long, and it can leave residue inside of you if you’re not careful!
If you’re unsure if your colored dildo is safe, you can try the boiling test. Boil your glass dildo for a few minutes; it can handle the temperature, but any unsafe paint cannot.

The answer is yes! As long as you buy a glass dildo from a trusted store or seller, take care of it properly, and check it periodically, it’s safe.

In other words, glass dildos are as safe as any other toy as long as you know what you’re doing. In addition, the non-porous nature of these toys means they are easy to clean.
